Exterior

Distinctive. Iconic. Pure.

The IONIQ 5’s pure design is a refreshing take on electric vehicles, stripping away complexity to celebrate clean lines and minimalistic structures. The unique clamshell hood spans the entire width of the car, minimizing panel gaps for a clean, high-tech look. The LED lighting showcases its signature Parametric Pixels – unique jewel-like design elements that will feature on the exterior of all future IONIQ models.

 
Gravity Gold Matte

Colours.

Choose from nine exterior colours, including five new nature-inspired hues exclusive to the IONIQ 5. There are two options available with a matte finish.

The front.

The front bumper is defined by an eye-catching V-shape incorporating distinctive hidden lights that provide an unmistakable light signature.

The side.

Taunt and perfectly proportioned, the side graphics are highlighted by auto flush door handles that enhance the clean look and aerodynamics.

The rear.

The evocative design of the rear bumper and hatch harmonises powerfully with the rectangular Parametric Pixels rear light signature.

 

Active air intakes.

The active air flap integrated in the front bumper enhances the high-tech look in the front as well as improving energy efficiency when closed – and cooling vehicle parts as needed when open.

 

Clamshell hood.

Smooth and seamless design with a strong focus on minimalism. Hyundai's first-ever clamshell hood spans the entire width of the car, minimizing panel gaps for a clean, high-tech look.

Front bumper.

The front bumper is defined by an eye-catching V-shape – its diagonal creases are a high-tech interpretation of our Sensuous Sportiness design language for maximum energy and a sense of abundant volume.

 

Distinctive Z-shaped graphic.

The IONIQ 5’s precisely modelled surfaces and shapes give it an angular, almost geometric appearance. The front and rear forms join together at its doors, creating a dynamic Z-shaped graphic.

Dynamic profile.

The sporty silhouette, with its short hood lines and slick roof line, also features a steeply sloped C-pillar – imparting a feeling of speed that is reinforced by the dynamic window frame moulding.

 

Flush door handles.

Sleek and aerodynamic, the flush-style automatic door handles enhance the IONIQ 5's high-tech look. Touch sensors automatically release the hidden door handles for use.

Slice rear reflector.

Inspired by long-loved electronic products, the slice rear reflectors add an eye-catching touch to the rear of the IONIQ 5.

 

Aerodynamic spoiler.

The rear spoiler is a further reflection of Hyundai’s Sensuous Sportiness design philosophy, adding sporty sensibilities with the help of aerodynamics.

Exclusive alloy wheels.

The 19" and 20" aero-optimized wheels further echo the design theme, exuding an exclusive electric flair, harmonizing beautifully with the sleek profile.

 

 

 

 
 

From night to bright in 256 pixels.

See and be seen – the crown jewels of the iconic front-end presence are the distinctive LED headlamps with their 256 cubic pixels.

Bold and bright in the back.

The innovative LED lighting design can be found in the back too, with the signature Parametric Pixels highlighted in the unique rectangular rear lamps.

Harnessing the power of the sun – the Solar Roof.

The innovative solar roof collects energy and transfers it to the batteries. It prevents the 12V battery from dying, while charging the high-voltage battery to extend the driving range. The battery charge and solar roof energy flow can be checked in real time through the integrated display in the cockpit. It brings together all the driving information and scattered operating systems in one place.

 

Interior

Live, drive, work, relax.

Inside the IONIQ 5, the lines between living space and moving space are being blurred. Our new EV platform gave us the opportunity to re-create the interior as a whole new in-car experience. A larger flat floor, highly adjustable front seats that can be fully reclined, and a flexible centre console that can be moved throughout the cabin, make for an extraordinary experience.

 

Integrated Display.

The sleek modular dashboard features two integrated displays: a 12.25” full- touch infotainment screen and a 12.25” digital cluster for a high tech look that comes standard.

Column type shift-by-wire.

Taunt and perfectly proportioned, the side graphics are highlighted by auto flush door handles that enhance the clean look and aerodynamics.

Paddle shifters.

Enjoy fingertip control. You can easily adjust the level of regenerative braking through the paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel.

 

The perfect place for a power nap.

Enjoy premium comfort with two fully reclining relaxation seats in the front. Lean all the back for a refreshing break while charging – at the push of a single button.

Sliding centre console.

Customize the interior layout to your needs. You can slide the centre console back to the rear seats, so your kids can use it as a picnic table or desk.

 

Power sliding rear seats.

There's plenty of comfort for your backseat passengers too. The rear seats can be manually reclined and power-slide backwards and forwards up to 135 mm.

Back seat comfort.

Second-row passengers also can enjoy centre console features, such as cup holders, a 15-watt fast wireless phone charger and USB ports.

 

Eco-friendly interior and colours inspired by nature.

Sustainability is at the centre of IONIQ’s brand vision, which can be found throughout the interior in eco-friendly materials and nature-inspired colours. The seats, headliner, door trim, floor and arm rest use eco-friendly, sustainably sourced materials such as: recycled PET bottles, plant-based plastic yarns and natural wool yarns, eco-processed leather with plant-based extracts, and bio paint with plant extracts.

Sustainability

Innovative use of environmentally friendly materials.

Environmentally friendly materials are used extensively in the IONIQ 5, like eco-processed leather and recycled yarn. What’s more, raw materials extracted from sugar cane are used on the headliner, carpet and seat covers. A solution that is both recyclable and beautiful. The innovative use of natural materials is another contribution to sustainability in our manufacturing processes, making the IONIQ 5 less reliant on oil-based products.

 

Recycled bottles turned to fabric.

For each IONIQ 5, up to 32 plastic bottles are shredded into plastic chips. Those chips are melted and spun into thread that makes an inviting, woven upholstery fabric.

Plants turned to components for seats and carpets.

The seat, headlining and carpet fabric includes bio components extracted from sugar cane and corn, while leather used in the IONIQ 5’s interior is dyed using flaxseed oil.

Flowers turned to paint.

The IONIQ 5’s doors and crash pads are painted with bio paint that includes oil extracted from plants such as rape flowers and corn.
